We've got a normal 10+ reserves for ZG raids now. That's a lot of people sitting and waiting for a spot on raid night. It's my responsibility to offer everyone a chance to do raids, so here's what I am going to do:
Limit our 20-man runs. We know what we're doing in there; so here's what I am going to do. I am going to make ZG runs on Monday, and probably do a "fun" (OPTIONAL) run for Thursdays. I will not always attend these, and probably quite a few people can't, but they are not going to be "scheduled" (so much), and are for those who don't get the chance to do ZG often to step up and learn the instance and the mechanics. It also gives a chance for people to step into roles that they usually don't have and become comfortable with them. We may also throw in an AQ20 in the mix, too.
More 40-mans. We're just now getting to the point where we can do 40-mans with only ESA members, so that's what we're going to do. I'm going to have a 40-man raid set-up for Wednesdays and Saturdays; that's where the higher loot content is, and that's where I can put the most people in to ensure everyone has a chance. Also, these 40-mans won't clear themselves. We have to learn them and get through these just like we did ZG. On the bright side, ZG is harder than MC.
While I do understand that some people will still be on reserves, this is going to increase the amount people get to participate. For these reasons, I can not do two simultaneous runs:
(1) By splitting the two groups up, we are making them weaker. One strong core can do more than two weaker cores. This is not to say we have stupid players, just inexperienced players. I will be battling this "inexperience" with the optional Thursday runs; the people without much experience in ZG can now get it, since the people who normally do it have went Monday. I also make it on a Thursday because the server has reset the instance, so if we have room and people from Monday want to come, they can.
(2) I can no longer have a "reserve" list for when people leave the two groups. So since we have everyone we could have called on to replace in an instance, who do we have to replace people? So when people start having to leave... those spots stay empty, and that limits progress, and there's no fun in that.
I am making these threads to inform people that yes, I am aware of the problems, and yes; I am doing what I can to help everyone, and that I am looking at every angle I can and trying to decide on the best possible one.
